    Smallmouth Bass question

I know that I should probably post this on 2Cool, but I trust the TBH brotherhood WAY more. Where is there access to smallmouth bass fishing (I have a kayak) within a couple hours drive of The Woodlands? I've done a google search and found which lakes hold smallies, but want to know feasibly what are my chances in hooking up with some. I guess I would like to stack the deck in my favor and go somewhere that they are caught with regularity. I've caught my fair share of largemouth, crappie, and catfish over the years - but NEVER a smallmouth. Anyone willing to point me in the right direction?

I don't think there is any place within a couple of hours of the woodlands to catch smallmouth.

Okay, how about three? There are smallmouth in Belton but I'm not sure if they are plentiful. I'd like to float a stream or river (Colorado maybe?).

Lake Whitney near Waco held a nice amount of the brown bass, before the golden algae. Now I am not sure since I quit fishing the Brazos river chain lakes.

Come to San Marcos and I can put you on some smallies. I caught the #5 smallmouth four years ago.
