    Just Threw Up! Darn it......

Well I just got a new bowtech assassin and was working on tuning a new drop away rest and I lost a sense of reality and accidentally dry fired it. I'm just sick right now- the peep flew off and the string came off a little but was able to get it back on the cam. What should I do - is it an automatic new limbs / cams - everything looks fine?

    Just sick about it.....

Take it to your dealer to look over. Those Bowtech limbs aren't the toughest

Don't draw your bow without an arrow again.....problem solved..

did the same things a few years back. Took it in to the shop, took some garb from the shop guys but no damage and the bow is still working fine to this day.

                Accidents happen.

Have no experience with Bowtechs, so take this for what it's worth.

I've shot Martins ever since I started shooting compounds so that's pretty much what my experience has been. Over the years, I have managed to dry fire a bow twice. Or maybe, once and a half. First time I had just received the bow and didn't have any idea how hair triggered the release was. Drew it with no arrow, and you know the rest. The second time (the half time) I was praticing on the range and for some weird reason (nock too loose?) the arrow went about 15 feet. Both times the only casualty was the cable slide.

Hope it works out well for you. Suspect it will.

Every time I see someone draw a bow with no arrow I cringe.

Check the limbs by running a cotton ball over them. Any slivers from a delam should grab some fiber. If the limbs are good check out the cam/cams for distortion. If everything looks good shoot it. If it holds together shoot it again.

Thanks guys / all seems good- I was trying to adjust the timing cable for the new rest thus why I had no arrow. Seems good. Now if I can just get this darn arrow rest to time right... Ugh
