    Floor Insulation

I had a 12x24 storage building built at the farm..

The walls and ceiling will be insulated and it will be climate controlled.

I need some reasonable ideas on how to add some insulation on the floors.

The base floor is 3/4 in treated plywood.

There will be indoor/outdoor carpet on the floor.

Crawling under is not an option. too old too fat

My first thought was to lay some 1 inch foam insulation board then top with some 7/16 OSB That would give a r factor of about

    Thoughts please.

may work....but run nailers across the floor, and then fill the gaps with the foam board....this will keep the floor from crushing the foam and "sink"..but don't really see the need.

I build my stands in panels then take them apart n have each panel sprayed with spray foam insulation. That way I can haul them and assemble them in 20 mins.Just a thought for u for future use.The foam insulation board will work over your floor but I would go with cd plywood instead of osb.Are your floor hoist on 16" cntrs? If not cd plywood is definitely the route to take.

Whats your climate like? Insulation in the floor is the least important. I wouldn't go to great lenghts to insulate the floor at this point. The perimeter of the building where it meets the ground is important.

I think I will just caulk good and add indoor/outdoor.

There will be skirting around the storage eventually.
