My sons 1999 Ford F250 7.3 wouldn't start tonight..Lights come on everything works. When you turn the key you can here a solenoid click and nada. HE said it did it a couple times this morning but after a few tries it started normal. I would appreciate some help...The Batteries seem OK as it started fine all day after trying it a few times...

Mine does it from time to time and its the wires on the back of the starter. Just send my son under it to wiggle them and it starts right up.Comment

I would check the battery post and be sure that there is no corrosion and that all connections are tight. Most of the time it is a battery and you have to replace both batteries not just one of them.Comment

You are right about the starter wires being loose, it has happened to mine once.Comment

The factory starter came apart on my truck and it did that but was slow turning over first.Comment

Could be the glow plug relay. It is just a 12v solenoid.
Jump it with jumper cables. Put a clamp over the two large bolts on the gpr.

After having both batteries checked, it turned out the Starter was bad. All good now! Thanks for the guidance!Comment
