    Pawn shops

Ok I deliver to a pawn shop and was burning time looking around I looked at a couple things and WOW let's say you were gettin a steal by any means! $20-30 less then retail. Generators, TVs, laptops, guns my thinkin is why would I buy something used that I have no clue what it's been through? when I can buy new an get a warranty or return policy from a big company?

Pops bought me a good Leupold rangefinder form a hawk shop, still in the box for way cheap. If it were to come apart tomorrow Leupold would honor it.

But as a general rule you can look at the condition of the item and tell.

I tried to buy a shotgun from our local pawn shop once. He told me the price and I said I could buy the same gun from wal mart for less money. His response was "Then go buy it at Wal Mart". So, I did and have not been back in the pawn shop.

Some things are good buys and some aren't.

Pawn shops are hit an miss just like garage sales, some pawn shops do have a 30 day return policy in case the item doesn't work as advertised. Others do not have a return policy and I'm very careful about what I buy there. Deals are there if you look hard enough.

I think it's hit or miss.....depends on if they know what something is worth. A buddy picked up a fairly new Mathews Monster for $380 or something.... I thought it was a decent deal. But still... I like new.

This has been my experience when asking for a price break. I gave up and have not returned to a pawn shop in years. I prefer to buy from and individual for used items or brand new. But I won't ever knock anyone who gets a good deal. I just dont have time to waste trying to find the one shop that will give a good deal.

I have never paid what a pawn shop was asking for an item. I've gotten some good deals and I've walked away from a bunch more.

                            Not the ones around here!
I've tried to haggle them down some and they all give the same BS story. "It goes down on the price depending on how long it's been here which is ever 30, 60, 90, and 120 days..."
I said or you can drop it to this, now and I'll get it out of your shop today....
                            "Can't do it sir."

We'll you can keep it sir,,, bye!
