    Another horticulture question

We moved into this house in December and it's got several fruit trees...
Lemon, Orange, 2 peach and an apple.
I'm tickled about that...and the orange tree had fruit on it when we were looking at the house before we bought it.

BUT....my lemon tree just got it's butt kicked by the freezes and especially this last one we had last week. All the new growth that was coming out is black and shriveled up. And, it's losing leaves fast.

I've been hose watering it about every 3 days for 30 min or so since Last week.
    Kinda worried that it's toast.

Some of the branches are brittle at the tips...some are not.

The inner core of the tree still has green leaves. It's a BIG lemon tree (10-12 ft tall), so I'm hoping that it is established enough to pull through.

any master gardeners have any suggestions??

The tree is still alive and it will come back. Usually it takes about a month to re-bud out. Just give it time and you could put out some fruit tree fertilizer or spikes around drip line of the tree.

        Good news.
That's what I was hoping to hear. It's a cool tree.

Don't worry. It takes several hours of temps in the 20s to kill a fruit tree that size. Lemons are more susceptible than oranges & grapefruit to cold temps, though so you might want to think of protecting it in some way for next winter.
