    New Tripod

Just bought one yesterday and although it's 5 years old, it's new to me. The question I have for the GS is it is a little rough as far as paint goes. What's the best paint for repainting one? I really don't have access to a sandblaster, so I was wondering do I need to prime it and then repaint it or do I just go get some spray cans and repaint over the old paint with a little rust showing. Any help would be appreciated. I am new to the GS and bowhunting, so like the paint that's left on the tripod, I am green.

    Thanks in advance,

I just get spray cans... Black, brown, green, light grey. just spray one color as a base(may take 2 cans) and splotch it with the rest. No set pattern. Just break up the long lines best you can.

I would hit it lightly with a medium grit sand paper to knock of the chalky oxidation and maybe work the rusted areas over a little more and then just wipe it down with a acetone to get rid of any oil from your hands.
Paint it with a flat color that would blend best as to your area.
By the way..Welcome to the TBH.

Rattle can it with whatever you've got in the garage. Camo is for the hunter, not the deer, they couldn't care less and will get used to it whatever color it is.

Rust is good camo to me, but I'm lazy.
