Im wanting to get my Chl. Do I need to fill out the paperwork online before i take the class? or do I need to have all the other stuff done(Class, Fingerprint) and then fill out paper work? or does it not matter?

It dosent matter you can do it first but it wont really spead up the process.. You still have to have the chl 100 and then your finger prints have to be done at a prcessing center and you have to have a copy of that fast form saying it was completed then you send all that stuff in online.. So you can start it before but it will be the same as if you did it after.. -
No, class, sign up, prints, send into in. I just got my prints done this week and sent in the certificate.Comment

The longest part is the fbi background check, which is the finger printing part. They don't start that part until you pay the application fee, then they submit the finger prints... that being said, I did my application first then did the CHL Class... up to you though, it might be quicker that way...Comment

I did everything I could before the class. That way when I had the class part done, I could send everything off asap to get the process started.Comment

The background check starts as soon as you pay the $140 to the state. Speeds up the process. Then you send in your chl100 and wait until they finally put it in the system.Comment

Check around for classes. Many of them are set up to perfrom all that you need on site. The gun shop in South Houston that I went to had someone there to fill out your paper work, had a police man there to take your finger prints and take the required pictures and when you finished at the range everything was in your packet ready to mail out (except your check)....Comment
