    Ever Been Busted with Ozonics?

I have read MANY positive reviews of the Ozonics units, but a negative comment is hard to find (other than price)? Does such an animal exist? Have you been busted while using your unit? If you have been busted, had you followed good scent control prep?

Yes, a couple times. The difference is that they dont always throw a flag and head for the next county. They usually just move on, often times coming back after a while. You still have to be smart and play the wind. I use it mainly for the deer that come in from where I dont expect deer to come from.

Yes. It is not 100% but no doubt works in many circumstances if used right. I have stopped using mine when pig hunting though because I believe a pigs nose is so sensitive it can smell the small amount of odor that slips through. In fact, for pigs I dont even spray down or anything any more. If a molecule of air passes by me and enters the nose of a pig I believe there is nothing you can do. You are busted. Keeping the wind right is the only way to beat the hard hunted pigs I kill. ( or try to kill )

From the Ozonics company point of view:
Busted has many meanings for people. There is the tail in the air running for the hills type and the stop, back out/turn around and walk/trot away type.
An animal that scent checks the air a few times and continues is not a busted scenario.

If an animal truly busts while using the Ozonics, 1 of 2 things or both have happened. The most common is the unit is not placed where the ozone and comingle with the scent that is traveling downwind. The use of this type of scent elimination is an art.
The other and less common is the environmental elements cannot be overcome by the unit or it's placement.

I've been using it for two years and a redneck engineered unit before that. I've had deer that may have busted me but not 100% sure if it was scent or other factors.

As stated in a post above, I hunt mostly from a ground blind with deer approaching from multiple directions. This is where it pays off, is in those deer that come in from downwind or cross your wind getting to the feeder or hand corn.

I have actually had deer directly downwind at 20 yards on corn but it makes me nervous.

I still follow a good scent control regiment from bathing to clothing to boots.

yes I have. It is very important to use this unit in accordance to wind direction and correct over cover of the ozone. If it doesn't cover you it cant eliminate your scent. When I have been busted with it, it was due to this mostly..........either I didn't place it in the right spot or couldn't.

I have a had a ton of success with ozonics. I was an early adopter and shot numerous animals where the advantage was swung my way.

and I've been busted many times. Man can vainly attempt to come close to beating what God perfected.

Interesting thread to say the least. Enjoying the feedback as I am looking at getting an Ozonics for next season.

                        This.

MOST of the times I have been busted have been with swirling winds. You really need a constant wind direction. I have seen some amazing things while using one.

Been busted both ways! Run for the Hills and Didn't tlike the situation. On calm days They can hear the unit running. IMO! When the wind swirls the unit is useless. Good steady 10mph and above it works good. Not worth the coin. Once again IMO!

disagree they can hear the fan, it's so quiet i believe it's simply white noise. I've never had ears up looking for sound and I've used it almost three years on numerous hunts.

when the wind swirls i agree it's tougher but not useless, if I can predict the swirl i'll usually aim it in a way that it'll still clean up scent. Example, if wind is blowing at em and it's swirling then i don't really care i point it at the prevailing wind and the swirl ir irrelvant. But if the prevailing wind is outside their scent cone and the swirl ends up in it, I'll shoot the unit on high and just try either the prevailing or directly at em. Either way swirling wind is hard no matter what.

my best description for people on ozonics is that most often in less then ideal wind you'll see nervous deer. I very often see them looking up but they are typically acting like they are looking(by look i mean with eyes, ears and nose) past me. My non scientific feedback is that they are getting enough of my scent to be nervous but that it's a level that makes them think I'm far off. so they are alerts and will look past me and move nervously around as if they are on guard if I get closer.

yes but only because the stuff i took to flush it out of my system didnt work and the HR lady had it out for me
