    One pin vs multi

I have a single pin slider. Can't really get used to it. But I can't imagine having 7 pins. I have shot five pins but ideally 40 yards is max I will shoot. And I will be able to shoot one pin from 20-40 fairly easily. Should I get a 3 pin then shoot 20-40 with the top then have 50-60. What do you guys do?

I shoot a 5 pin......the stories from NON-STAND hunters for Elk, Caribou, etc will make you trash that one pin sight in a heartbeat!!! Both have there place though.

I had a single pin HHA and really liked it but wasn't really practical for ALL hunting situations so I recently switched to a Trophy Ridge React and I love it only thing I would change is its size, the single pin worked fine at my typical bow hunting setup where 20-30yds was the furthest possible shot anyways

My hunting is deer & hogs, here in Texas. a 20 yard pin & a 40 yard pin is all I use... or need.Keep it simple. green is my goto 20 yard and red is my 40 yard.

I agree with LR, both have a place. I use a single pin for Whitetails and 5 pin for everything else.

I use 7 pin sight almost exclusively. That being said only about 30% of my hunting is out of a stand. Lots of hunting out west and spot and stalk. Things happen quickly and I don't know how you would adjust a single pin. Two examples. Called a bull elk in to 10 yards in New Mexico. He busted me at full draw and then ran out to 45 yds. I had already ranged that spot. Gapped my 40 and 50 yd pin and let it go. This year was in Iowa and had a good buck chasing a smaller 8 point out of a field. I was ready for a 30 yd shot but they went toward the field for a forty yard shot. I didn't wait for him to fully stop and my shot was back. He walked to 90 yds and stopped. I was able to get a second arrow in him at 90 and them watched him die. I just don't know how you adjust a single pin that fast in the field. That being said, I like single pins and would use them if most of my hunting was stands. I have a cbe 5 pin moveable sight on order. That may be best of both worlds for me. I do like my 7 pins. Can shoot from 10-100 yds with good confidence and speed.

I sit in a pop up blind hunting whitetails for the most part so a single pin suits all my needs. I don't have to worry about picking the wrong pin. I shoot 3d with my single pin, and don't adjust my sight, and do fairly well with holdover and estimating range. All that being said, if I hunted out west, I'd probably have a multi-pin sight, but for what I do, a single pin really simplifies it for me.

Pretty much sums it up for me. I go back and forth trying different sights, and, Less ( for me ) is better. Currently shooting the G5 XR2 and it fits the bill. 1 fixed and 1 moveable pin.

Yes sir! Just bought the XR2. I love it! I wanted at least 1 solid pin. Seems to be a great product.

You should seriously practice with out any pins.
It will be extremely difficult at first but when you get it you will think it is the greatest thing in hunting you ever did.

This pretty much sums it up. Hunting stands only single is fine, if hunting out west or spot and stalk multi pins

Five pins!! I was shooting one pin out to 3o and I consistently had shots at 16-21 yards. I shot high every time, making blood trailing interesting. I went back to a 20 yard pin and saw a world of difference.
