I will send you a pm with my number. Need a quote on a stone wall. Buying a house and wall was built with railroad ties. It's beyond repair. The wall needs to replaced and we are trying to neg. it before our 10 day period ends.

Probably both. The wall looks good but it needs attention. We are trying to figure out a cost before closing.

We use about $10 per square foot for walls less than 5' tall as a rough estimate of what it would cost. Sounds like you also have the cost of removing the old rr ties and maybe some dirt work as well so the cost estimate would have to be higher. Hope this helps.

My retaining wall looked almost exactly like yours. I replaced it with a wall built from the large, stackable concrete blocks (68 pounds each). Total cost for the wall was less than $7000, but I did all the work. It took 399 blocks to build.

Shortly after that, I talked to my cousin that runs a landscaping business in Tyler, and builds these type of walls. He based his estimates on the number of blocks needed for the wall, and charged $35 per block. That estimate included tear down and removal of the old wall, and installation of pea gravel and drainage lines for the new wall.

BTW - I think you will have to replace your fence if you use the stackable blocks, because they don't stack straight up.
