    One of those days....

Looks like the truck is getting a new engine. Headed home from work and it didnt go well. I recently replaced the transmission. This time around it will be an engine and and new gears. Sucks breaking down and having it towed, but its almost 30, i will let it slide this time.

Nice truck. Sorry its giving you a little grief right now. Dont give up on the old ones. I like seeing them on the road. Repairs beat monthly payments, but do seem to always occur at inconvenient times. Good luck, hope your back on the road soon.

Good looking truck. I've got the opposite problem on my old truck. Built a new engine and the transmission didn't like the little extra

Eh it happens. You still need to stop by one of these days.

Antifreeze was pouring out of the exhaust so head gasket, or can intake gasket allow that? The truck is in great shape and its been my daily driver for several years. When i bought it, it had a long block that didnt have many miles. But ive always thought something was wrong with it. Due to me not trusting the engine i will put a crate engine in it, instead of just replacing head gaskets. Warranty on a crate engine and the transmission and new gears and everything else is in great shape. And yes it beats no payments hands downm

I know that feeling. Im having a 383 that just got built for my vette, im pulling the transmission and having it rebuilt for that very reason.

Thanks, i hope so too. Vette is a 75 mostly stock until now. New engine hasnt even been picked up from engine builder yet. I like older vehicles driving and tinkering with them so the truck and vette are my daily drivers.

At least it's a Chevy. Crate motors are available easily and cost is decent. I had to put a motor in my '89 duelly 4x4 welding truck last year. It just wouldn't pass inspection any more.

Yes sir, nice truck. The availability of parts engines ect for these trucks was one of the big reasons for buying this truck when we were getting out of debt. New parts are cheap amd used parts are cheaper. We figured if something happened for a few bucks i could still get to work. We are now out of debt and im partial to the truck and will keep replacing everthing with new as it breaks.

Ah, good to know. Neighbor has a 400 smallblock with a super charger.....lol. id love to hot rod it out, but in all honesty i will go back with gm crate engine with a slightly larger cam that wont affect the stock computer. Its been a good truck for me and i dont want to start breaking too much stuff cause i kept trying to add power. When i want to have fun i will fire up the vette, should lessen my chances for getting into trouble that way.
