looks like I'm taking another hit

If you see me on the news climbing a tower with my AR, you will under stand why. March I gave a carpenter $3,000.00 as a deposit to close in my garage. I have not seen him since. Last month I found out AW had beat me out of $5000.00. I'm in the process of a civil suite but the Ole Blood from a turnip will surly apply.
Yesterday we found out that the owner of our company lease had died.
We spent a little over $250,000.00 upgrading this land after signing a 5 year lease. It appears he did not have the authority to sign the contract as the land reverted back to his STEP kids after he died.
We had just paid him $40,000.00 2 months ago for the 2008 season. It almost goes without saying no one knows where are money is.

I'm just about ready to snap out.

I checked every listing on Deer Texas hoping to find a place to move all out stuff. double wide trailer walk in cooler ect.

wow - no good at all. I always hate the moment we pay our lease because if the family up and decides we ain't hunting we aren't, and the money is gone.

Buff, that is some really bad luck and I hope everything works out, but never, ever give a construction company or carpenter any money before he starts the job unless it is to pay for materials "after" he has already purchased them. No incentive to come back to do any work, at least not in a timely manner. That is the only way I do my construction business and a lot of times I do not collect anything until after the job is complete.

Sorry to hear Buff. If you should learn one thing from this... NEVER front taxidermists or contractors a bunch of money. Man, I hurt for ya!
