Try Jack County around Jacksboro. That's about an hour to Ft Worth straight down 199.

If you buy land in the Barnet, try and get at least 50% mineral rights. it will cost you but maybe well worth it.

You can find MANY other counties within 2 hrs. of DFW that are WAY cheaper than Jack County. It's too close to the DFW expansion and Barnett-Shale. If you want I know of some land for sale on the brazos just northwest of Graham for around 2K per acre. Let me know and I will get you in contact with the guy who has it for sale
