Turned off the satellite five years ago. We rent about two red box movies a week. No net flicks or streaming tv either. My kids read on avg 30 books per year. My son usually reads 3 books at one time. Turning off the idiot box was the best move I ever made for my family.

I have never been more disgusted with TV than I am right now. I have DirecTV, probably more than 100 channels (no premium movie channels) and can almost never find anything worth watching. If you're not a "reality" show fan, you're screwed....and on top of all that, my bill just went up another $4/mo. Thank God regular season televised baseball games are almost here.

No, just a PawPaw with a 2 year old Grandson that tells me what he wants to watch. His almost 1 year old sister is catching hold of it pretty quick too. We have several episodes of Mickey and Henry recorded for his viewing pleasure.

Outdoor, Sportsman, Pursuit & VS.......program them early not to pay much attention to the TV and you can watch what you want.

Its just a mirror image of society as a whole. What hasn't gotten worse? Smut is everywhere. Cartoons are all politically correct, billboards, commercials, everything is. This is only gonna get worse. IMO sports, history channels, a few others are all that's really worth watching...........that's just my 2 cents.
