    CHL Status

2 buddies of mine took our CHL class back in December. What was supposed to be a 1 day class dragged out to 2 FULL days of classroom and range time due to bad weather.

(Not to mention I missed two weekends of deer hunting) But I digress….

I received my certificate from my instructor. I literally had my finger prints done the next day.

I paid my dues submitted my documents via online and went about my business.

2 weeks later my buddies got their paper work in a row and submitted theirs via online. Did I mention 2 weeks after I did....

    Here is the kicker…

Both of my buddies who submitted their documents 2 weeks after I… have already received their CHL in the mail.

Me on the other hand…still waiting.

I called the hotline number. Waited on hold for literally an hour. Finally someone picked up and I explained the situation. The said they received my documents and I am in queue to but they couldn’t tell me anything more…

What gives? I have a ZERO criminal back ground check….

Now I am a little concerned that something on my end is not checking out...

My 2 friends on the other hand have a "history"…nothing major but still….

    Anyone else had this problem?

They just got lucky man. Im 4 weeks in on mine and still haven't received a status change on their website. Patience. I think they have 90 days to do it.

Mine took right at six weeks. My fingerprints were under review for the last two. A friend of mine that took the class with me and sent in her packet around the same time got hers about three weeks before I did.

I don't know the way Texas works but in Michigan your local CPL board meets once a month and if your packet isn't in a week in advance you get pushed to the next month for the meeting.

I took my class in October and received my license a month ago. Took 3 full months to get.

Best way is to send an email. May take a few days to get a reply but they WILL email you back. Just don't flood their inbox.

I can't tell you what's up but I did my renewal oct. Of 12, license would expire 2/13, by the 2/13 rolled around I was frustrated with trying for the last 4 months said to heck with it, new license showed up in the mail 2/14, every time I checked was told/ showed online that they were waiting on necessary documents. Can't prove it, but I think the instructor might have dropped the ball on his end.

We're required by law to turn our documents in within 5 business days. I do mine within 24 hours and I email it so I know my stuff will get there before any of my students documents will. Most instructors email it in. I'm sure there's a few who don't send it in as soon as they're supposed to

If you didn't send it certified/return receipt then it just went in a huge pile of them in a big basket and they get to it when they get to it there is no order to it at all. So your buddies that already got theirs just had theirs picked out of the pile and finished quicker than you.
