    ruger vs axis 7mm-08

Ruger 6906 or a Savage Axis in 7mm-08? Help me decide!

I don't have neither but my cousin has the mossberg scout in 7 mm-08 and it is a sweet little rifle

I've not shot the Ruger or the 7-08 for that matter but my oldest son has an .223 Axis that I bought him. I had the barrel cut down and recrowned, I really like the rifle. I need to do the trigger mod but one of the action screws is stripped (bought it used) and I'm afraid I can't get it out without messing up the stock. I really like the gun though and have wanted one in 7-08.

I have the axis 270 - sweet gun. I have two other savages - 243 and 22/410 over under. I am a savage supporter.

Yea the atr scout I think it is. It's only around $300 and it has the accu trigger . Smooth action I would look at one for sure before you decide whih one to get.

The Savage Axis (at least the youth model) is decent gun for the price but....

              1. It has an awful trigger.
              2. The magazine is plastic and the tab that secures if feels like it could snap off at any moment.
              3. The bolt/action is so stiff that it basically makes ours a single shot for the kids.

I have the .308 axis ( wally work for $247!!) Put a nikon scope and it drives tacks... i did a lot of research and there weren't many bad reviews on this one... other than the heavy trigger... but a 2 minute spring cut and I'm at 3.5 lbs. :-)

I bought my son an Axis 7mm.08 two years ago. He shoots it pretty well, but the trigger is awful. Love that caliber in ANY rifle, though.

Could you tell me the exact steps to do this? Thanks!
