Which foam do you have? I did the IT bands and glutes.....lots of sore areas in both. My trainer suggested the roller after stretching class on Saturday.
I sure wish you'd get a bunch of reports on this, the wife came in with an article on these and asked me what " I thought". Which when translated means, unless you come up with a good reason for me not to spend money, you're about to become a human guinea pig.
When I was a trainer we had them in the gym and they were very popular. I mostly used it to crack my back but a buddy, who was also a trainer there, was an expert with them. He had a position for any muscle and swore by the results.

One from Academy. Around $16 I think. Also youtube foam roller for more ideas. I use mine after every workout and sometimes before if I've done things that have me a little tight. I also keep a tennis ball in my bag for deep tissue relief.
