    front entry door install ????

i want to install a new front door,it has the side glass panel,we went to home depot ,looks like 1300 for the door and hardwareand 350 to install it,does this sound about right? does anyone else recommend a place to look at doors and anyone around georgetown install ? thanks

350 for install isnt bad. Does the front door have a cover over it to help keep weathet off of it? Thats where you sacriface quality on big box stores products is the frame. Ive installed more doors than I can remember and if you were closer I could help save you some money. The wife is actually picking out our new front door tomorrow

Check out BMC Millwork on 1431 between Parmer and 183A.

My experience has been that the box store door units are a touch smaller than normal but a good trim man can replace a normal sized door with like kind. I would check out BMC Millwork as suggested and ask for a recommendation for someone to install it for you. If there is another reputable door/window company close you could check them out as well. Good luck.

ETO Doors is by far the best deal and great quality. Delivery is to your home. I have installed many a door over the last 20 years they are had to beat

I agree with Bill M. I don't care for Home Depot door Hardware. I wood check with a millwork company. I am in Oregon so maybe our Home Depot is a little different.

I would pull the trim off the inside and measure your ruff opening . Then take those measurements to the door company and they will build your door jambs accordingly . It is real hard to plumb and level a door if you don't have proper clearance . With the right door installation is a easy job . If you install it your self make sure you shim it according to the instructions because it can void the warranty if it's not to spec.

                Front entry Door

If you are buying a top end door invest in a storm door if you don't already have one, the sun and weather in Texas will kill the finish in a couple of years

I can almost promise that Bmc will be higher. I'm a home builder in Austin and we pay 900 dollars for our front doors. That is the door by itself, no jamb or hardware or anything. If you find a door you like, pm me, and I can set my trim guy up to install it for you

                    So it's a dog door???

And yes I would do exactly what he said. BMC has some good stuff also I would check with ProBuild we always got better prices from them.
