    Online College

Has anyone gotten a degree through online schooling? What college did you go through, and what was your experience. Trying to iron a few things out in my life right now and I think online school would be ideal. Thanks, Zack.

I graduated with mostly an online degree at UTEP. Degree was legit, and actually got accepted into a very well respected Masters program (not online). Do a lot of research. It needs to be accredited. I am not a big fan of only online schools, but others would disagree. There are brick & mortar public universities in Texas that offer online degrees. Check them out. My father is currently going to UT Permian Basin online. PM me if you have any questions.

Got my masters online from Sam Houston. Great program and it was tougher than the my traditional classes. Lotta of work and requires time management/discipline.

I appreciate the advice, I may be PMimg you in the next few days! That's an importance factor to me, being able to get accepted to furthering my education. I will definitely look into UTEP.

Look at others too. Had I not already begun at UTEP, I probably would have gone for the BBA at UT Permian Basin or something similar. I went with in state because it was cheaper.

I got my degree in business/management from university of Houston-Victoria. Lots of it was online but thinking back I believe there were a few things needed to graduate that had to be f2f. Not classes, but presentations and such.

What degree are you leaning toward? That will guide your school choice.

Agree with Chew. Know what type of degree you want first. Had i known SHSU had a BBA online, I may have gone that route (except for the harder classes).

SAM has a good online program. You can get a general business degree entirely online, and your transcript and diploma looks no different than that of a traditional student.

SHSU is the best cj school in the state (my opinion). Associates won't do much but it you can get your basics out of the way and transfer to the CJ bachelors online you should be good.

Earn your Criminal Justice degree on-campus, from home, or on the go from Sam Houston State University.

I tell ya….the hardest part is getting started. Once you get enrolled it's just like working an extra job or something. But the paperwork and admissions and all that is tedious.

I got my degree from UT Arlington online. I completed my associates in San Antonio at NW Vista mostly online. I went in for a few classes for my associates. I transferred the associates to UTA and completed a 4 year degree. You must be motivated to complete the program but it beats parking and walking to class. I was able to take tests while out of town and it worked with my schedule. There will be a lot of reading and papers to do.

Last time I checked San Antonio College offered an entire associates degree online. Make it happen
