Academy discontinue the S&W M&P Shield???

I have compiled quite a bit in giftcards to Academy and I have been wanting to use them on an M&P Shield. For weeks I have been calling all the stores within a couple hundred miles and they don't have any in stock. I called the customer service number from Academy's website and they said the closest store that "may" have one is in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and that the M&P Shield is showing up as discontinued in the system. Does anyone know anything about this?? I can't see Academy discontinuing such a popular item.

I am wanting to use the giftcards on one. So I am interested in a store closer to the central Texas or panhandle area, any further would probably cost me as much to go get as one would without the giftcards.

I dont see why they ouldnt move the product to your location.

no their not being discontinued their still 399.99

just hard for the buyers to get them in at the moment.

Academy in Arlington said they just couldn't keep them in stock.

That's what I was figuring I would figure discontinued as in not in stock or bought by academy to be shipped to stores yet. I have seen the academy add on website but the adds for stores in my area don't have it in there and they are selling it at $449 I wished it was $399.99. lol I have been checking the adds religiously and calling the closest stores 3 times a week and can't get the guys to budge on giving me a heads up on when/if they get one in.

I have the full size M&P 9mm and I like it a lot. I am carrying it for now but want the shield. I had kinda looked at the Ruger SR40c as an alternative but the lady I talked to on customer service line said the Dallas/Ft Worth area is the closest stores that would have one of them also.

I have seen one in the Temple and Waco store nearly everytime I have been in there.They have been on sale for the $399.

Check out theses guys in Carrollton. I've done business with them before and they had a great price and good supply.
