You say your "thinking about getting into kayak fishing". I would definately try this style of fishing before springing for a Hobie! Rent one or borrow a couple of different styles first. There are a bunch of styles and types depending on what you fish for.

I do have a PA 14 and love it. Probably never be without a Hobie with the mirage drive again! They are heavy and expensive but very very nice to fish from!!! Good luck with the search!

I'm wanting to make some trips to the bay! Being from North Texas I don't know the first thing about fishin them waters! On the other hand I've always wanted some reds to stretch my line!

It is a great boat for the lake or deep water at the coast. It won't do well in shallows or small creeks and rivers. The weight is an issue but it is manageable for the most part. I never took one into small tight areas but did use one in the flats at the coast. Spend a lot of time dragging bottom where I never would have in a smaller yak.

It all depends on what kind of fishing you are wanting to do. I love the drive system on them. You can fish a bank using both hands by peddling and once in a while bumping the rudder to steer you. If I ever buy another I will get a Revolution 11 with the same drive system. The drive system pops out so you if you get into shallow water you can just pull it out so you don't tear it up.

The PA's are very stable and you can easily stand in them. I have never been able to stand in any other yak.

If you are like me once you buy a PA you will end up needing (wanting) another smaller/lighter yack for ease of use and once you figure out how to use the smaller one you won't drag the PA out as much. Guess that is why I plan on the Revolution 11 if I get another one. It isn't a party barge like the PA but has the drive system and you can do much more with it in my opinion.
