Yup when I was 6-7 and I can't remember exactly how they felt. Stomach and back still have very light scaring.

Had them 4 years ago at 34. Basically had a ring around my entire torso. Thought I was having a heart attack it hurt so bad.

I had them in 1978 and have scars that go from center of my stomach to the center of my back and all between in my left side. That was the most pain I have ever felt and wouldn't wish it on anybody.

I had them in the same place. They also broke out inside my chest cavity. The pain was bad with every breath. Still have spasms there from nerve damage and it was 5 years ago.

I had them in my 30's too. Stress will aggravate it, so watch for that.

I had them when I was 26. Chest, under arm near pit and back. The under arm hurt so bad I had to hold my arm up all day because letting my arm hang naturally was almost intolerable.

Buddy I work with got them a couple of years ago and he was only 30. They say that in times of extreme stress (like at home or work) they can manifest. He had them all down one side of his face and had him out of commission for several days.

Had them a few months ago. Wasn't a big deal for me. Little pain and itching but not a bug deal. Seems I got lucky!

had them when I was 41. not fun at all. had them from middle of my back, under the arm pit, and across my chest. My doctor is a friend of mine, and he had to take pics to send to his DR buddies. He said it was the worst case he had seen. He mixed me a prescription ointment with several different things in it. He even had to call the vet supply store to get Ketamine. He said its a horse steroid. Long story short, my wife smeared my down with that, and I took a couple of pain pills. 30 minutes later, it felt like I was floating around the room and seeing things. Wife got a little worried about me, but the pain was gone for a little while at least. She wouldn't put near as much of the cream on me after that.
My dad had them, but they where under the skin and never surfaced. Took about 6 months for the doctors to figure out what was wrong with him. He was in agony.

Valtrex....seriously. I was 38 or so when it hit me. I had no idea, wasn't terrible outbreak, but I knew something what wrong. It gets worse the longer you wait.
Skin doc prescribed Valtrex. They stopped hurting about a day or two later. Worked really fast. Kinda embarrassing getting the prescription, but it was worth it.

Have shingles now on my back though am over the pain. I am 35 and thought of them to be a dirty person infection. In fact, 2 weeks ago when I was diagnosed I told my wife not to tell anyone

Now that I have learned more about them I see the error in my ways. They do hurt, and hurt is an understatement. For a week I was taking 2 hydrocodone a night to sleep.

I feel for ya. After 2.5 weeks the pain and irritation is gone but the bumps are still on my back.

Had them at 55 on the top of my head. Will never forget the pain and itching.

Had them at 18....about 20 years ago. Still have some scarring around my ribs on one side.
