    Quick question for a LEO

I just have a quick (probably silly) question.
I was headed home from dinner tonight with my girlfriend in the car and some jack wagon driving just in front of me (my front fender at his rear door) turns on his blinker and gets over. I have to hit the brakes of course, and he doesn't hit me. He didn't force me out of my lane and there was nobody behind me that was affected.
My question is, if an officer had seen it happen, could he (or would he) have pulled him over for something?
My girlfriend asked after it happened and I said no, but it got me thinking. Any insight?

Fail to signal intent within 100 ft of a lane change.

Fail to yield right of way.

    Unsafe lane change.

Several different charges. I probably would have made the stop to investigate his sobriety if nothing else.

I just don't think he was paying any attention whatsoever. He was in the process of passing us though, he just didn't check to see where I was is what I'm thinking.

Unsafe lane change is the best one as you do not have to signal 100' prior to a lane change, the 100' rule only applies to making a turn.

DWHUA and blind spots are still violations if the offense was committed. Traffic laws do not require a culpable mental state.

You either did it or you didn't.
