    Computer or fax/copier repair?

Anyone on green screen do this? I've got an Hp fax/copier and a laptop that doesn't work. Wondering before I toss them and start over. Thanks.

I'm willing to bet repairs will cost as much, if not more than a new replacement one

something else to consider, cmptr technology is advancing so fast that a cmptr, scanner, fax becomes "old" after 2 yrs of use... i.e. cell phones

Yep. I totally agree. Just thought I'd ask before I went all "office space" on them.
I just fixed an ac problem on my truck by ordering part online and installing myself. Probably saved myself a few hundred bucks over taking to dealer. Just got me thinking that I should ask before I give up.

          Always fun

Copy/fax no but laptops yes. All depends on what's wrong with it or do you know? A general description of the problem would help.

Laptop powers up but no display. I think the screen is out maybe.

Dell D510's were bad about the screens going out. Replaced a few of these myself.

Try connecting an external display yet?

No but that seems like a reasonable thing to try. Hmmm.

When it boots up does it beep? Like 1 or 2 short and a longer beep?

Canon printer/scanner/fax machines are great. More importantly the FREE tech support and AMERICANS answering the phone. I have had little or no issues with these but have several printers (identical). I did that for the drivers...for some reason a laptop decided these identical printers had different IDs so I had to manually click over for the printer selection. An easy fix (before it did it automatically). My point is Canon always helps you and reliable machines.

Not to nock HP but they had issues with their power cords, had one go out literally 1 year and 1 day after the purchase! I think a new power supply was $75 or something (didn't shop Amazon) but frustrating.

You may have minor issues on your laptop.

The printer tech support may be able to help, potential a driver can be reinstalled or something simple to get it working.

If it's just the internal LCD that's bad video will work externally, if the video card is shot it won't. If it doesn't display time to junk it.
