TPWD Project On Urban Bobcats in DFW

Interesting to say the least. Fitting urban bobcats with GPS collars. Not sure if this is a good use of tax payer dollars though.

I heard about this a while back, I speaking with the with the area urban biologist and he told me of a grad student that was having issues trapping bobcats...

One ran right across the street and down through the neighbors yards as I was leaving for work the other day.

The neighbors with little dogs are freaking out.

I kind of like the idea because the dang tree rat population seems to be decreasing.

I have seen both bobcat and coyote in the smack dab middle of Dallas (just west of White Rock Lake).

Feral cat population seems to respond accordingly.

Lots of cats and yotes here close to lake Grapevine. Pet cats don't make it very long if allowed to roam the neigborhood.

I really don't think post people have a clue as to the wildlife that lives around them. Bobcats and coyotes are adapting just fine to live in urban areas. I just wish they could trim down the rabbit population in my neighborhood.
