Broad heads not screwing in new arrows

My wife got a dozen new arrows from cableas for Christmas. We went to Cabelas had them cut and the inserts put in. Most of the arrows will not let a broad head be screwed in. It feels like the screw part on the broadhead is bigger than the insert and it wont take. Anyone got any ideas whats going on?

Bad inserts? I have had this happen before.

can you screw in the field point.

I hate to start lobbing negativity but it wouldn't surprise me if there was glue on the insert that's not allowing the head to grab. I usually have a few arrows that i have to keep pushing the fp in and it'll eventually grab.

try a FP and report back

I have had the same happen with excess glue in the insert. Is it every arrow? As above, try a field point. If that doesn't work may have to put in new inserts. Have to be very light on the glue with insert or you can get in trouble. I have learned the hard way.

Wouldn't be an issue if you used Rage broadheads...lol

Double check to make sure that you are not mixing and matching Deep-6 inserts/broadheads with regular inserts/broadheads.

Use an 8/32 tap, more than likely excess glue

This is kinda hard to explain, but, I have had some inserts in the past that felt like they would barely start threading then stop. I had to mess with the tip, backing it out just a tad and restarting and they would finally thread on in with no problem. Kinda like they were trying to crossthread at first.

Yep. me too. Hate that, but I've learned. More glue is NOT better

Ok we got 1/2 a dozen and 2 out of the 6 I cant get a field point or broad head to go in. I do not see any extra glue in the insert. Anything we can do to resolve this ourselves? Any other things I should look at?

Try string wax or bar soap on the threads

Tap is the easiest way to clean them out
                          8/32

                            I agree with this.

Is it all of them? You might have an off size arrow/insert. I know some of the Easton's require a different size broadhead thread to work.
