Go to school for Safety or QC. you walk around telling people how extension cords are connected improperly and a ladder has to be tied off before climbing up it.

Move to Houston! Work for one of the biggest commercial drywall companies here, and everyone here is stacked. This boom here is expected to last anywhere from 5 to 10 years. Oil and Gas companies are building like crazy! Bidding a large project today worth around 6 million. Too much work here for the companies that are here to handle. Companies are starting to come here from as far away as Florida. We have branches in Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Austin. But Houston is leading the pack!

Highway department, my cousin did an internship last summer with them and he said there's a lot of older guys that go and do that for the benefits package. Since they subcontract most of the work anyway, he said mostly all they did was waste gas.

It's this way all over, people getting out or changing careers, I lost my job in retail after 23 years been doing whatever for several months now, I plan on getting my CDL so I can try to get a driving job in the oilfield. I said try since I don't know anyone in the field, I hope my record and back ground helps me.

Just took hazmat test and tankers. Good money in hauling fuel in oilfield.
