Some already know but I figured I'd post for all to read.
As some know I was asked to go to the Midland/Odessa area by my work to see if I could get some work going there. My first trip was mid October and in 3 days time I had some work lined up. The company decided to go ahead and send trucks and hire some drivers. I made a deal with a vendor to park a few trucks at their facility.
I was told that we would get an office and yard because they wanted to have every different type service we offer out west. I met with the vp one afternoon and we looked at a few places to lease.
Not a month later I get word that the owner was ready to bring the trucks back to Cleburne because I had only been able to hire one driver. I had plenty of calls from guys looking for a job and filling out applications. Most applications take 2-3 weeks to process so the guys calling could go to work quicker somewhere else.
Once I found out the owners plan I called the vp to see what my future was with the company. He didn't have an answer since my job in Cleburne was already being taking care of by someone else.
This was Thursday of last week. I sent some resumes off and made a couple of calls. I had a company interested by Saturday and did an interview by text Saturday. He then invited me out to his facility for a company Super Bowl party to meet face to face and meet some of the other employees. The face to face meeting/interview went well and by half time I had an offer. The next morning I accepted the offer.
I joined TBH 2 weeks before I stated the job that today is my last day at. I'm exactly 3 weeks from my 7 year anniversary date and starting all over.
Anybody that had my phone number will no longer have it as it was a company provided phone that I'll turn in this morning. If you need or want my new number pm me and I'll give it to you.
The last few days I've felt a huge weight off my shoulders knowing I won't have the stress and worry that came with the job I'm leaving. I'm looking forward to my new position and company. I ended up turning down some better paying offers because they really didn't seem to be a good fit for me.
