Need Help with a TV Issue...

We have a Sony Bravia LCP tv. Out of nowhere, it started having picture issues. The best way I can describe it is like a photo negative -- the screen is pretty much white, you can barely see the picture and what you can see is out of register and in strange colors. Anyone know what would cause this? And is it something I can fix on my own?

You might also check to see if there has been a recall on your model... had a Sony crap out on me 3 years ago, and researched it. In the end they replaced an older rear projection Wega with a brand new Bravia 50" LCD for about $200 out of pocket.

      maybe...

This document discusses troubleshooting and replacing TCON boards in Sony LCD TVs. It provides background on TCON boards and their function in processing video signals and transmitting them to the LCD panel. The document notes that Sony will begin offering limited replacement TCON boards for some 2006 and later models where previously the entire LCD panel had to be replaced if the TCON board failed. It provides guidance on diagnosing TCON board failures by understanding symptoms not caused by the TCON board versus those that could indicate a failed TCON board, such as issues affecting specific areas of the screen.

What type of connection do you have from your tv to your cable/sat provider?

I would try a different input on TV and then a different output on the "box". Try a different "box" as well.
