Here is what I did to get 3. 76-38=38 that gives you the distance between the 2 high and low. Take 38/2=19 take 76-19=57 to confirm 57-19=38 and 57+19=76 thus b=19 and a=57 so then we take 57/19=3

My calculating was a little cruder than that, but i finally came up with the same answer.
