    moving a safe

I bought a safe and it is in my garage and I need to get this thing into my house. I am located in Haslet, Tx about 20 min north or Ft Worth do y'all know any cheap movers to make this happen? It is somewhere around 650lbs and i only have my neighbor to help me but its just to much for the 2 of us to get off the pallet and onto a dolly. I did call 2 men and a truck and they quoted me 375 dollars for moving it into the house.

I slid mine on a 4 wheel cart and moved it that way. You would have to make sure the cart will hold that capacity. Northern tool has 1,000 lb carts for 20-40 bucks. Just need a couple of guys to help move it. I am close and can help if needed.

I use a company out of garland and they charge 200-250, but that it more then needed here. All they use is two dudes and a furniture dolly, and my safe is 1100#+. So get the cart from above a couple 30 packs and a couple friends.

Depending on the terrain you are moving it on. Short pieces of PVC or metal pipe under the safe will get it to roll on those pipes. You just need someone to keep placing them underneath the safe as it is pushed. Golf balls also work for rolling safes around on hard floors. Just keep placing the under the safe. Renting a large hand truck with pneumatic wheels can be an option.

Get 4 of the sliders that folks use to move furniture. They are round wafer-like things that go under the legs. Just put them under the corners of your safe once it is in the house and you can slide it anywhere with ease. Getting in the house ? Get lots of help !

Four of us put my brother in law's safe in his basement, but my son in law was one of us and he is a hoss. We used an appliance dolly to get it in the house and to the edge of the stairs, only took two guys to do that.

If a couple guys could give me a hand Thursday I would split a brick of 22LR between the 2 of them (250rds each) and a case of beer.

I got mine with just myself and one other buddy. All you need is a couple four wheel dollies, case of beer, two bag chairs, small tub of spackle, matching paint(walls and trim), paint brush and a gift for the wife. Add a carpet kicker if you slide it across any carpet.

Never tried this but I was told you can get a couple dozen golf balls and put them under the safe and roll it anywhere you want to. Just keep putting the balls in front of the safe as you roll it along. I've got one that is about 650 Lbs. and once it is on carpet, I can slide it anywhere I want to will a little effort.
