    FoxPro Wildfire Volume Question

I turn to the certified experts on TBH. I recall seeing a thread on here a while back about the FoxPro caller (assume it was the same one I purchased from Academey - The Wildfire). The reviews were very favorable and I have heard some positive things in past as well. I tried mine the other day and personally thought the unit was not very loud? I was about 20 yards behind unit and speaker was facign away.... and it seemed soft. After being finished I stepped in front of the speaker and sure it was louder, but not a real cranked up level.... I was using the dying adult jack rabbit and experienced in the past with old callers were much louder. Did I get a bad unit? What are some thoughts on volume on the Fox Pro from others on here... maybe there is a switch somewhere that I missed that goes to 11?

I have one and I wouldn't call it LOUD but you don't really need it too loud. I usually start off calling where I can barely hear and have had good luck. If you can hear it at 28 yards they can hear it at 200+.

I am fairly inexperienced with it. We tried it for crows as well and it was not TOO loud, but it **** sure called them in. So Tx Chicken.... you start super soft?

Yup mines not terribly loud... But it doesn't need to be.

If your calling predators start with a low sound volume. If there's any close by they will respond quickly. If you start blaring they may run away.

I put mine at about 30 yards for yotes and bobcats and usually start at around 4-6 volume and rarely go over 10. I have never called crows but if they can hear it I would bet its working fine. Take a look at predator master forum-its a similar forum but all on predator hunting.
