Get away Weekend idea

We are mid 40's, 2 kids 16/17 and married for 20 yrs. Life has gotten into a boring rut. Wifes B-day is 2/16. So I am thinking maybe a quick get away some where for both of us and leave the kids home/grandparents? Not really in the bar scene. Ideas? We are in corpus area, but can fly or drive for right idea.

Where to go. Even if you don't like art. The Walton's (Sam's) have created a world class facility in a wonderful setting. The architecture, setting, and art are world class. And as a bonus it is free entry. Easy to spend the weekend if you want to do walking / bike trials and enjoy the setting in woods.

If trout fishing interest you drive to Gastons on the white river in north Arkansas for 3-4 days.
It can be found with a google search.
Took my wife last year for a few days and we had a great time together and she caught all the fish. They even cook it for you in their restaurant

Another thing
If learning to fly interest you or both of you at all I would suggest going to local airport and asking about a sport pilot license. Maybe even taking a ride for an hour.

My wife and I just decided to do the same thing. Next month the kids are going to the grandparents and we are jumping a flight to Santa Fe, NM. Getting up there Friday afternoon and staying at Sage Inn. Sage Inn has a great Ski package. Saturday we will drive up the mountain and Ski for the day. Come back and have a great dinner then Sunday morning we jump a plane and are home shortly after lunch on Sunday. Fairly inexpensive as well.
