I used canned air and the vacuum hose with the brush attachment.

Sounds Crazy, but take a piece of white bread & wipe down the cape after dusting. Have done this for years. I talked to the guy that travels around to the Bass Pro Shops with the King of Bucks collection & that is what they do also! Made me feel good to do something not many people knew about.

All the bread is doing to leaving an "oil" on the hair. I agree with Sam and use Taxidermy Magic but all it is, is a spray for show horses that can be bought at most feed stores. It's really called Cowboy Magic It conditions the hair and helps retard further dust build up.

Go to tractor supply and get some stuff called cowboy magic! Its works great and adds a nice luster and protects. I used it in my taxidermy shop for years and it is used by quit a few taxis I know! just spray on and wipe down with a rag. works for antlers also and it smells like febreez!!!

No WD-40. Oil and dirt dont mix. Feather duster. damp cloth. I hear the do make some stuff the taxidermist can order for you.
