Is there a real differance? Turbo tax VS HR Block

Ok so I have been doing my own taxes for the past several years using Turbo tax, but I keep seeing this commercial about a ton of money that is left by people doing their own taxes....

My question is
Is there a difference between me doing it with turbo tax verses HR block????

normally I am of the opinion if it is to good to be true it probably is...

I have use Turbo Tax for about 10 years and never felt short changed. I think H&R block is starting to see a shrinking bottom line and wants to create some doubt.

We did HR Block for the first time last year and it sure was nice not messing with Turbo Tax. Plus we felt like we were getting as much money back as we should... HR Block also comes with protection if the freaken IRS gives you crap, meaning they will represent you for free...

H&R Block is a bunch of baloney.

A couple years back, Mrs took our taxes to them to be prepared. They told her that we'd get back about $800,I told her to wait, and let me take it to my CPA. I signed off on a return of nearly $2,000. I spent the $25 more at my CPA, than H&R Block wanted.

She was convinced that I was getting fleeced by my CPA before that, now she doesn't fuss when I go over there to have things taken care of.

Go to a real tax preparer, not some goober that was flipping burgers 6 weeks ago before attending the "university of H&R Block" or whatever they call their training program.

I used Turbo Tax and for years... tried HR Block one year and went back to Turbo Tax.

Smart move!!! IRS audit ain't no joke!!! H&R will help you out. You may get more money back from the crooked tax guy but if IRS pulls your ticket your gonna be sorry!!

I'm a CPA and use Turbo Tax. They also have audit protection for a small fee.

After seeing some of the people working for H&R Block, I'd rather trust Turbo Tax. TT also does have audit protection, but both go off of a questionnaire type of system.

We have used TT for years with a complex return, multiple rental houses, etc... Last year my wife took three years worth of returns and had a CPA audit them. He told her to keep using TT as there was nothing he could do for us that TT wasn't doing for a whole lot less.

Has anybody used Tax Slayer to do their return? I've used it the last couple of years, and it seems pretty straightforward. I'm just wondering how it compares to Turbo Tax.

Turbo Tax program gives me the confidence to personally do my own taxes and know where and how deductions occured. This enables me to direct my strategy to better take advantage of tax benefits. With the turbo tax coupon i am able to get this brilliant software within my budget.
