Need an easy way to remove small trees

I have a lake property and down near the water there are at least 100-150 small trees, they are about 1 inch in diameter and maybe 4-6 foot tall, I need them gone, brush cutting would not be good because it would be like walking through a mine field when you are bare footed, I guess I could tie a chain around several at a time and pull them out, any other ideas ?

I have used limb loppers a number of times on a few small trees.

Have also removed tons of small trees with a straight shaft weed eater and a combination saw blade. Take them off slightly below ground level and not worry about reusing the blades. If any one does that....use caution!

The ratchet rake looks like a great attachment for a bucket.

This will work. Stay after it and they will be gone in a few months.
