    Soft tanning Axis Hides

I have 5 Axis hides that I would like to get tanned to put on shelves, chests, etc. Anyone know a good place to take these. Use to have them done at longhorn taxidermy in weimer but I here they are not doing it any more.

    thanks

Not sure where you heard that from but I assure you that Longhorn Tannery (my father) is still open for business.

Thanks Kevin for the heads up on this post...

          great,
they do great work. I will be giving them a call. one of the guys I play softball with had told me that they were shutting it down. guess I should have called first. I will definitely be taking them there.

            Chad,
is it your mom that does the pillows that are there. My wife has been wanting me to get some of them made.

Yes, my mom, Daria does do pillows and just about anything else she can come up with. I think my favorite thing she's ever done is a large rug made out of axis hides. I think it took something like 12 or 13 hides and were arranged in a spiral pattern. Very nice! I couldn't imagine putting it on the floor to walk all over.

Glad you think they do good work. I've told my dad numerous times that he could expand and take on more customers, but he doesn't want to because he feels he would lose control of the quality.

Good folks right here. I used Alvin a bunch years ago. His wife is very creative.
