you are going to get hink I'm telling a tall tale

Saturday night my brother in law and I py ll up into my dads driveway and big eight is standing there. Didn't think anything of it, except hey there's a nice buck. About that time a doe jumped up and took off running across the field. The buck puts his nose down and follows her, when he gets to her she lays down and he stands there and stares at her. She jumped up agian and same thing but she's running almost side ways and jumping around funny. Then here he comes nose to the ground. Repeat that 3 more times b4 we go in the house.....what's up w that? I hear of secondary ruts in late december but middle of january I would think would be unheard of.. pretty cool though.

I've heard one from a great source that on spring break week two years ago in Ellis county south of DFW he and his dad were driving down a gravel road and looked out by some trees along a creek and 4 bucks were chasing the heck out of a doe. They stoped for a minute and watched because they really couldn't believe what they were seeing. Now that's late rut!!

Couple of years ago someone killed a doe late in the season that was about to drop the fawn(s) she was carrying

          Crazy things happen

I saw a couple bucks chasing a doe around a little north of El campo while I was duck hunting.

Four years ago I saw two bucks running a doe in Hopkins County in Feb. I had to rub my eyes and look again!
