    Triton X18C or Ranger RT188?

Looking to buy a new boat this year and have narrowed it down to the Triton X18C or the Ranger RT188. They are almost identical spec wise with just a few features differing.

    I'm leaning toward the Triton.

Does anyone have any experience with either boat?

I would go ranger.... higher quality imo. And your resale value will be ALOT better with the ranger. Good luck and have fun with whatever boat you choose! What motors you thinking about?

Resale value will always be higher with the Ranger.

What is the difference between the two, price-wise?
What hp do they recommend for that size boat?

I would go Triton, these boats are built vey well and has no problem with resale value. I've had 3 of them and best riding boat I have been in. Yes I have been in just about every bass boat made as a co-angler. Get the most HP available for your boat.

For an 18' boat I would go with the 150hp I know it is more $ but!

Depends on which options you want really. Its rated up to 115.

One thing I like about the Triton is the bait well in the front deck. Also has the option of having two fishing chairs/butt seats on the front deck. Not sure if the Ranger comes with those options.

I think both have bait well up front as standard options. The 2 front seats is great for spider rigging for crappie. Not sure if Ranger offers that though, although it could be added relatively easy. Since I started mainly crappie fishing, I'm now running a Triton 186 magnum and have zero complaints. Very good and dry riding boat for aluminum.

I can't help you with the decision on those type boats, I can tell you a Triton 21 XS or HP takes a backseat to nobody. As far as resale between the two brands, very little difference if any, at least if we are talking bass rigs. I have owned both and would prefer either of them.

                            TCR2:

I've got a 2007 Triton 19X2 with a 225 Merc. Optimax Pro XS with about 25 "Original" Hours on it. Kept under cover with a boat cover also. If you are interested let me know. I'm just across the lake from you about 2 miles from 255 and 63. Showroom condition, too. It would be much cheaper than a new one.

I personally like Triton's and have ridden in both in the center console so no help on bass boats.

Hard to believe that resale value is better . . . . both are the top of the game. If you told me ranger would sell quicker i might buy that but i'd bet nada depreciates equally.
