    Briscoe Exotic Game Ranch

Just curious if any one has ever hunted here before. It's located in Alvin,TX and it's close to where I live. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the place. If it's not a good choice, then what would be a good pick to go kill some Axis within a reasonable driving time from League City. Thanks guys.

Hmmm. My wife works in Alvin, we live about 30 minutes away. Their prices seem good.

I will tell you what I know. Have you ever heard of Halls Bayou ranch? it is an exclusive waterfowl hunting club.....(like $15,000 per membership exclusive) It is the same folks that own it and run it. The two are not run the same to say the least. The man who is the manager of one manages the other. His name is Mark Strickland and he is an.....well nevermind....its a family friendly forum and all of that about Mark is STRICTLY MY OPINION. The head guide is a fella named Jake Eversole and you will not find a nicer, congenial, and competent person to hunt with. To me the exotics are an after thought to the waterfowl hunting and are on a different piece of property. If they were run the same then it would be a super place to hunt.
That being said, I'll say this. You will see animals when you hunt there and will have a better than reasonable chance at harvesting what you are after. I am almost positive that they have Axis, but not trophy Axis. They have an abundance of Fallow, but not trophy fallow. You will see different rams, but not trophy quality. Stags are there but no trophies. It is a smallish place and is high fenced I believe so they have nowhere to go really. I do not know if they have decent lodging or not. If they stay at the lodge at Halls Bayou where the run the duck hunts the lodging is outstanding.
If you are wanting a quick meat hunt then it is an okay place to go but I think you could do better closer to you, if you are wanting a "trophy" then I'd say go elsewhere. I've thought about going myself since I am close and wanted to fill the freezer and know them personally and have duck hunted with them but I have called, and called and called, texted, texted and texted, left voicemails and sent emails for a long time and have yet to get anyone to return my calls, messages or texts

So how do they stay in business if no one ever gets back with customers attempting to hunt?I might not hunt there after all. Thanks for the info.

that's just it......the waterfowl thing is their thing, the exotics are an afterthought....kinda like a tax right off. Briscoe Holdings could care less about the exotics and probably want it to loose money
Briscoe holdings are huge and they need tax breaks, so I make the assumption that it is not important to them. Land, oil and gas leases, waterfowl, cattle, THEN exotics.
It is important to those that run it (Mark, Jake, and Todd) but to those who own it (Briscoe Holdings), not so much, so their money and time hardly goes into it.

All of this is strictly IMHO, but is crystal clear in my eyes

try giving David Blackburn with Griffith Exotic Ranch in Winnie a call. If he has any hunts left this year, he can hook you up. It is a small place but he usually has some absolute TOADS as far as axis, blackbuck, fallow, and sometimes red stag.

I am thinkin of going back myself in a month or so
