    Deer steaks?

Neighbor gave me some deer steaks. Not chops, but thick steaks. How's the best way to cook them?

Salt/Pepper HIGH HEAT, two to three minutes per side, depending on how thick.

I prefer to cut the steaks into small chunks and chicken fry.

But they are pretty good rubbed with butter, thyme salt and pepper and cooked medium rare on the grill.

All I have is a gas grill. Don't want them to turn into chunks of charcoal.

Olive oil, pepper, salt. Hot, fast, and rare!

              Oh, and beer!

Beer is a given. How hot on a gas grill?

rub in olive oil and spices- Get grill as hot as you can. Cook quick and hot. Enjoy. eat it more rare than you would beef.

We eat this at least 2x a week year round at the house. You can also cut into small pieces. roll in flour - brown- add water and beef base. Pour gravy and deer meat over rice.

If they're anything like the deer steaks I've had, it's chew chew chew chew chew chew chew chew chew chew chew chew and spit out the remainder. Good luck and happy chewing!

After it's grilled to rare/medium rare, let it sit for 5 minutes before you eat it.

This is due to over cooking. If you are scared about undercooked meat, I wouldn't try to eat them as steaks.

Cut them up and chicken fry 'em.
