Frost don't keep the rattlesnakes at bay!

We were duck hunting the marsh this morning around Freeport and bumped into this guy on the walk out.

Wouldn't even think a snake would be out this time of year.

Reminds me of the one we killed a couple of years ago the day after Christmas.

I walked up on one in the dark in Tilden when I was blowing frost from my mouth.

A buddy killed one Sunday while we were out mule deer hunting. Talk about stepping your game up for spotting and stalking.

I have seen one out when I thought it was way too cold. That knee high
"vegetation" don't look very inviting to walk through where rattlers live.

I hear they are evolving. First they will stop rattling to avoid being killed then they will come out in the winter because they don't make insulated snake boots.

A buddy got out the boat when we hit Sargent 2 weeks ago. He stepped over a 5' rattler then screamed like a woman and hauled back to the water haha.
