    How to find leases 101

So I lose my lease this season. I've been so creative in years past dropping off notes at the local feed stores, calling the chamber if commerce, submitting ads in the local paper. Nothing has worked to find one for this up coming season. I know it's early but I'd like to find one now instead of waiting till summer to get set up.
So I've never purchased access to those lease sites. Anyone on here ever go that route. Is it worth it? What's your opinion the best way to find a lease?

Thanks in advance for the help.
Of coarse if your lease has an opening if like to hear from you

You are doing right, just be patient until late February or March

I've done all the above.. it's my first time actually being on a lease... i found joining a hunting club was actually the most affordable and reasonable for me at the beginning of my hunting career.. I guess later on I'll lock in something more trophy like.

Screw the lease finder sites. I have had terrible experience with them and they are not well managed.

Consider talking to a real estate agency in the areas you aee looking at. They typically know a lot of people and may have a lead or 2.

Want to get the phone to ring? Find areas you like and want to hunt. Use a GIS or other ownership map or county appraisal district. Send owners a letter letting them know who you are and what you are looking for. Send as many as you can afford and send another one 45-60 days later checking up on them and again letting them know how trust worthy you are. You can absolutely build rapport via mail

Don't use the lease sites. WE ran an ad several years ago in the news paper. our ad showed up the next season on two different sites. They are just re-posting ads and no clue how old they are.

put finders fee payable on signing lease. last time I contacted a couple of feed stores in area and hunting or gun stores. last time my finders fee was 500. seems like a lot but to safe the headache of looking I would pay twice that.

Check craiglist EVERY day without fail. Also check chamber of commerce websites in the county you are interested in. Many of them have listings.
