A rick of wood is half of a cord. A rick should measure 2 ft length wood by 4 ft high by 8 ft long. Most wood stove inserts will not hold wood 2 ft long so a lot of people cut the wood 18 inches. Your close to 4 x 8 but the wood is not 2 ft long. That is the way a lot of people sell it though.

I sold firewood for several years when I was in my 20's. I had lots of dead trees and needed to clean up so I figured sell the wood and pay for a splitter, chainsaw etc and after that play money.

I cut mostly 18" wood but I never ripped anybody off. Just adjusted the height and length to still get 128cu ft. Sold to lots of people that were amazed that my cord would not fit where the last guy had put their cord too. Lots of crooks in the business.
18" wood was easier to sell too, would fit a fireplace, wood burning stove etc. Could sell it to anyone and burn it in my insert too

Think the OP got about a 1/4 cord from the looks of it.

1/2 cord would fill up a long bed truck and be above the bed rails, cord would fill a 16' trailer

I cut a 1/2 cord of 12" wood once for a guy that had a little wood stove. Never did that again. Just as much cutting and splitting as a full cord

How much did you pay for that, ahem, half cord?

It looks like a full scorpion hotel next to your house.

I find most people selling this way since few people have a fireplace that will handle full size logs.

I though for a minute there you might of been dealing with firewood Ray from Old River. He's been known to short a load before.

$85 delivered and stacked isn't bad but I agree it's a little short.
Now if you really want to be shafted, buy some that roadside firewood, most I've seen are about 12" long and about 20 pieces to the stack for $10!

If those are 1' bricks on your wall then you were shorted a little but not much. I would say you got about 3/4 of what you paid for. I used to cut and sell wood and I do not miss it.

Try not to split all your wood. Burns up too fast.
