This may well be most of the problem over there. It isn't 2cool to share. Sorry couldn't resist

I have been shown around by someone on here when I moved to Texas. They showed me a few places to hunt and how to hunt pigs an I was very thankful and still hunt with them when they do hunt. But meet another buddy on public land and became friends and let him hunt my favorite spots. Now when one can't make it the other will drop some corn on his spot to keep it hot. And switch out hunting spots with each other. Other guys I will give helpful advice about how to hunt but usually not where. When you do that or put it on here, you end up with people hunting that spot and they bring all their buddies. Not good.

absolutely . . . . . . hunting i can share whatever tactics you want, not sure you want to listen to me. Problem is that in almost all cases my spots are my spots you can't have em.

fishing is different, on a public waterway any and every potlicker (including me) can roll up on an area your in and take your spot.

I try not to be one but I've found that sometimes water current and such I drift a bit too close for the liking of the next guy.

I try to share information equally about fishing and hunting. Not being cocky here but i feel confident enough to tell most people more about fishing and what spot lure speed of retrieve etc. ....why most might ask? It's cause I have confidence to pull up to my spot everytime I fish and know in my mind theres fish there and I can trigger them to bite something.
Hunting I am always trying to help out as much as possible I just think its awesome when you help someone out with a tip and they come back two days later after applying it and are thanking you for your help. THAT'S just me though!!!

Yea I've been there and duck hunters are bad but it tought me a lesson. What I found is if I tell 3 people about what I've found they will tell 10 people each about it because they really don't have anything to loose and everyone wants to seem to know how to find birds. Then half of those will try it saturday morning and the ramp I had to myself has 15 boats at it. That was before the internet. At 2cool there is too much traffic, I would never tell specifics. I may say the trout are over shell or redfish are at the jetty but that is about as specific as I'm going to get.

Of course there is no need to be mean either. At the saltwater section of TKF and TFF I'm more willing to share.

I take my kids and their friends duck hunting all of the time. I have found that they listen really well and all want to learn. The few times that I have taken adults with me, they tend to think that they know it all when in fact my 6 year old son knows more than they do.

I build lots of Crappie Condos to sink in the Lake and I'm pretty tight lipped about where they are but other than that I'll help anybody that asks about the lake. I was sinking Condos last year and actually had a boat following me around and marking my Condos on his GPS. That ticked me off pretty good.

I Think I would have drove up to him and chunked one in his boat and said "MARK THAT!"

Took my about 4 or 5 condos before I realized what he was doing. When I figured it out I just pulled up to the bank and got out my lunch and ate lunch. He actually waited for me to eat and then followed me some more. Some people's kids.

I don't mind sharing whatever I may know with anyone, my biggest problem is, I have diarrhea of the mouth from time to time, so naturally everyone thinks I'm full of $4'!.

I'm a young man and even I know there is just something you don't do and this joe's behavior is one of them!

Had it been me I would have cruised up next to ya and ask for permission to mark a few! If not, then i would go make my own
