Gun safes?

My first safe was a little over 300 pounds. Stack-On 24 gun, I believe. I didn't feel comfortable even with it bolted down, as I know darn well a couple guys can easily lift and carry that much weight right out my front door, and ripping some bolts out of the floor and walls certainly isn't "impossible". I welded some plate steel to the bottom, and probably doubled the weight.
I felt comfortable until the contents of the safe became more valuable than just about anything I own, short of my house and business. Ended up turning that safe into an ammo safe, and bought a huge 52 gun Cannon. Had to actually get a building permit, as I had to temporarily remove a sliding door, a small wall, and a staircase to get it into position. They both now sit in a room you would never even knew existed unless I showed you how to get in, and are bolted on three sides into concrete walls, at the bottom of a set of stairs that wouldn't support the weight if you tried to carry either safe up them. People still know I have guns, so I keep a cheap 18 gun cabinet in my bedroom with a few rifles and shotguns that are all replaceable. It's all fine and dandy now, except for the fact that I accidentally dropped every gun I owned off the side of my boat...
Basically, you get what you pay for. What's your peace of mind worth?
