    Mechanic help

My wife's 2006 matrix is throwing camshaft and crankshaft positioning sensor codes. Anyone able to help with the location of these two sensors?

Also the computer was changed out in this car about a year or so ago on a recall. I guess what im getting at is what are the chances that both of these sensors went out at the same time? could it be a computer issue?

P0335 and p0340 I believe. Check engine light shutoff after he checked codes. That's the reason I was thinking computer. Almost seems intermittent

Highly unlikely that both sensors failed at once. A crank sensor failure will usually result in a car that will stall or won't start at all.
My suspicion would be some type of timing problem.

Was it overdue for a timing belt change?

If the codes disappeared after he read them, chances are he cleared them, they probably didn't just "disappear". If there really is a problem these codes will come back on.

Check your battery before you do anything.

That motor has Vvti (variable valve timing). Vvti actuators and solenoids come into play
