    I need a chainsaw

So I'm tired of these throw away piece chip chainsaws. I've got $250 of credit at Home Depot and they sell Echos. What do I need to get if I want a 15yr chainsaw that I can cut firewood and clear my property? Budget is ~5 bills including by $250 of gift cards.

I was in the same predicament a while back. I bought the echo cs-550p from HD. I had to adjust the carb for elevation. The saw runs like a champ and is very nice to carry around. You won't be disappointed.

I got a Stihl ms290 and like it, plenty of power. Gets a little heavy cleaning/clearing pasture fence lines though.. A co worker has Echo, its a little one with like a 12" bar. That thing is badazz, light weight easy to use, plenty of power. If your not cutting big stuff, might be worth looking at. I would like to get one myself.

                    What size blade

I have 16 and 18 inch saws. I use the 16 inch 98% of the time.

If you limited to Home Depot.

The most expense 16 inch echo is $459.00 has the larger engine. I do not see that they carry a 18 inch blade by Echo.

The next one down has a bit smaller engine and $269 with a little smaller engine

I have the cs-370, comes with a 16" bar and I changed it to a 14" bar. I like it as a all around saw and will be well inside your 5 bill window.

Order the new echo timber wolf. Talked to a guy the other day and a friend of mines place he said that if money were no option he would buy it over the other bigger echos.

Of u can't get it get something with a P on the end. Like the 400 or 450P

Ive got the little echo with a 12 inch bar. It will take a 14 but with the 12 it has beaucoup power. It cuts bigger stuff than you think. For a power to weight ratio I like it better than my 440 magnum Stihl

I am a Husky fan but have had Echo's too and they are great saws. Last one I had was 20 years ago though.

                              re chainsaw

I have a husquarvana rancher from tsc, love it. But I just picked up a echo 14 inch today for 199.00 at Home Depot. I had to cut two downed trees for a job, ( I clear Lots for the city ) and it cut up two downed 18 inch diameter cottonwoods like they were butter. I feel bad, that I told the clerk at HD, that I would be back if it cut like poop. But I was truly surprised. small saw but great performance.
