    Duck hunters question?

I have never hunted ducks in my life other than being a kid popping up over a tank dam with my 410. I have at least 200 maybe more roosting on my property in a coastal field with lots of winter grass about 2 to 3 inches tall. Small tank about 50ft by 50ft. Are they eating the winter grass or what?

Thanks for the replies. Not a duck hunter so had no idea. Nothing but dormant coastal and winter grass. Another question, will they roost there all night or fly to a tank before dark? Just curious. This is an open coastal field and not a tree within 100 yards.

They will go to water to rest. They can and will feed till right at dark if bit last dark and then get up to go to water. If moon is full they could fly back and forth all night.
